A Modern Geisha Makeup Look!

One of my favorite novels, Memoirs of a Geisha, by Arthur Golden, inspired my profound fascination with the mysterious and elegant Japanese geisha culture.

Their makeup, while exotic, is intensely beautiful and serves as their unique trademark.

Using my lovely friend Loni as a model, I have attempted to recreate a “modern geisha” look:

Using flash photography:

Bronzer/Contour — Inglot HD Sculpting Powder in “Shade 54”
Blush — The Balm InStain Blush in “Toile”
Highlighter — Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in “Rose Gold”
Concealer — Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer in “Neutralizer”
Lipstick — Napoleon Perdis Devine Goddess lipstick in “Aphrodite”
Brow Powder — Lorac “Black” shadow in the “Pro to Go” palette
