Review: Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner

In ancient times, Egyptians viewed the eyes as the cornerstone of beauty — and likewise emphasized them with cosmetics. Cleopatra’s legendary kohl liner, with its seductive properties, illustrates this point:

The good news is that we can conjure a similar eye look in the present day!

Today I’m going to review Kat Von D’s Tattoo Liner in the classic black shade, “Trooper.”

As depicted above, the eyeliner comes in an ergonomic pen form. The pen possesses a felt tip which, since it is thin and flexible, glides across the eyelid like a dream and prevents feathering/smudging.

The color, although highly pigmented, is not matte. See the swatch below:

Winged eyeliner look (top lashline only):

This eyeliner, with its sleek felt tip, really should be featured in “How to Achieve Winged Liner for Dummies” (if such a guide actually existed!). You cannot go wrong since the pen tip slides across the lashline to create the perfect line. The pigmentation is incredible.

The only strike against this eyeliner is that the shade is not matte. Still, this small flaw should not keep us from giving kudos to this incredible eyeliner which makes it easy for the rest of us to achieve “Cleopatra eyes.” And, after all, this product does come from a company begun by Kat Von D, a famous tattoo artist 😉

Final Score: 4.5/5 Stars
